Framed Item: Small Silk Rug Framed Item: Small Silk Rug (detail)
Method: Hand stitched to fabric backing and shadowboxed with UV Plexi to reduce fading. (Red is the first color in the spectrum to fade)
Method: Shadowbox was kept small so fringe wouldn’t flop forward.

Framed Item: Mezuzah Framed Item: Mask
Method: Shadowboxed against suede fabric in deep gold leaf frame with suede also creating depth on inside. Client felt mezuzah was too pretty to subject to elements outside on doorpost. Method: Stitched to green linen background in deep acrylic box

Framed Item: Aboriginal Painting Framed Item: Lacy, Oil Painting of Venice Beach, 1969
Method: Canvas stretched on bars using a simple ebony stained frame. Usually aboriginal pieces are very active and a simple (often dark) frame is best for directing your eye and showing off the details of the work. Method: Stacked, or double, framed. The inner gold frame was added to give a little highlight to the colors of the painting. When two frames fit together looking like they are one we call it a good marriage.

Framed Item: Mugniani Etching and Aquatint, Bikers Framed Item: Mugniani Etching and Aquatint, Bikers (detail)
Method: Archivally matted and mounted with UV Plexi in a hand-carved frame. Method: Hand-carved frames can be specially ordered with designs in all corners or only one depending on the look you want for your art.

Framed Item: Poster with Camel that inspired a paint job, (see sky) Framed Item: Scott Griffin, Skeleton Engraving (see Profiles page)
Method: Drymounted on foam core with plexiglass. This piece resides in a steamy bathroom which is not a good environment for finer pieces of art. The plexi will help to diminish the moisture condensation but please do not put anything you really care about in a bathroom. Method: Floated on archival board with ¼” spacer and UV plexi. Here the bony texture of the frame beautifully reflects the feel of the artwork.

Framed Item: Egyptian Rug with Pyramids and Camels
Method: No frame or glass, this piece was stitched to foam core then a strainer was mounted to the back to help keep it flat and provide a solid basis for the hanger. (see reverse picture)

Framed Item: Egyptian Rug with Pyramids and Camels (reverse)
Method: This method works great when you don’t want to hide the texture of a piece behind a piece of glass. It is not recommended for finer, more valuable pieces as it provides no protection from dust and the elements.
