Allan Jeffries is a third generation framer. His grandfather, father and mother were all successful picture framers. Having grown up in a frame shop Allan developed a remarkable sense of design and knowledge. He is often referred to as one of the top frame designers in the country. Allan believes in doing business the old fashioned way where customer service, quality and attention to detail are the top priorities for having a successful business. Allan is also one of the top art collectors in Los Angeles and continuously loans artworks to museums for exhibitions.
DESIGNER: TRINA PHILLIPS
Trina Phillips is the manager of our 3rd Street store. She has been framing for over eighteen years and has a Bachelor’s degree in fine art from CSU Long Beach with an emphasis in ceramics and sculpture. She also paints and builds furniture, writes short stories and loves to travel (her two favorite destinations so far have been Ghana, West Africa and China). Trina loves to be innovative in her frame designs and add that extra touch that makes a finished piece very special. Feel free to wave if you see her riding down 3rd Street on her bright yellow Suzuki motorcycle.
DESIGNER: SCOTT GRIFFIN
Scott Griffin is the manager of our Santa Monica store. His fifteen years of experience in framing combined with a Bachelor’s of Fine Art in printmaking from Florida State University make him an exceptional designer. He really enjoys the unique framing projects that challenge both his design skills and his construction talents. Much of Scott’s spare time is dedicated to fine art engraving, printing (he has his own press) and bookmaking. He is heavily influenced by such artists as Barry Moser and Lynd Ward. His current project is an alphabet book that will make you look at letters in a whole new way.
Sean Martinez is not only an exceptional designer with eighteen years of experience but he’s also one of our crack framers responsible for the meticulous quality of our work. His artistic skills do not stop at the frame shop door. Sean is a talented graphic illustrator and mural artist. While he spent a number of years creating graphics for skateboard companies he loves the more recent challenge of creating whole new worlds and characters within the mural format. Sean’s enjoyment of people is reflected in the characters he creates and how much he enjoys helping clients find just the right frame to fit their style and personality.
DESIGNER: ROBERT RIOS
Robert Rios is one of the newest talents in our company. He has been framing for six years and shows great ability in the field. Robert came to us as an accomplished designer and has been adding the skills of mat cutting, shadowboxing and fitting. He is a proud father and husband (ask him about his little girl sometime). His favorite part of framing is the ability to flex his creative muscles in coming up with great designs. Robert is definitely a rising star in the world of framing
DESIGNER: JEN SOH
Jen Soh loves nature but barely tolerates shoes. When she can be found inside she may be working on her abstract paintings or writing with a cup of herbal tea at hand. The photographer in her heart drives her to wander the city looking for great images to shoot. Jen has been framing for four years and has a BA in Visual Communication and Graphic Design from Emmanuel College in Boston.
MASTER FRAMER: FRANCISCO ZAPETA
Francisco Zapeta is our production manager and has eighteen years of experience. He enjoys all aspects of framing and always keeps a great attitude even under the most insane pressure. He is the master that cuts all of our difficult mats, mounts the strangest items and generally makes even our wildest visions happen. Francisco is a very happy father and husband. He is also an avid soccer player and coaches the United Continental team.
